Firstly I would like to thank the Homebrew Company for the kit and Mansemasher for making it possible through the homebrew forum.
Placed the order late on wed night, order dispatched Fri arrived to my work this morning so first rate service as usual from the home brew company ( I used the ie. site).
To get the kit there where a few rules to follow the kit has to be reviewed at various stages (must check full details to make sure i comply). And you had to place an order with the company and leave a note in the comments and the kit would be added to the order.
There was no minimum order value so i suppose i could have bought something cheap to get the kit. I did need some bits and pieces and ordered a fair bit of grain some yeast and a bottle tree.
TBH i have used them quite a few times in the past and service has always been good and delivery via DPD has always been quick and reliable. Even fairly large heavy orders have qualified for either free delivery of the fixed fee of 4.95 euro which is a very good price when an order contains 50kg of base malt.

and of course the kit..
First impressions
clear plastic bag with a sticker showing the bruforia logo and name of kit.
2 cans malt extract (no label)
1 kg bag dextrose monohydrate
1 bottle labled a
1 hop packet
1 yeast (Gervin GV12)
2 A4 sheets of paper giving instructions.
Ive been brewing a while and have done a fair few kits over the years so the instructions fairly easy to follow.
If i was nitpicking i would have a few issues with the instructions.
they mention putting the cans in a pot of boiling water with an N.B do not have the water on the boil.
which is a fair comment but to follow on from that i would strongly suggest the use of heat proof gloves when swilling out the cans with boiling water as they tend to get hot.
the other item would be assuming that all fermenters are heat proof..I’m not sure of my glass carboy would like 2 litres of boiling sugar solution poured into it.
so over all first impressions are good and looking foreward to getting the kit on…
Brewed back in early December
i will admit my temps to condition suck ie shed…
tonight lifted 5 bottles out of shed to have a wee drink…..
including 3 very green ones
first smell of the bruphoria i knew it was a kit…and i hate to say that cause i had high hopes…..
flavour wise it it really hoppy which makes a change from the usual kits…
personal opinion
overall its a good advance on one can generic kits…that includes the coopers stout which gets rave reviews..(i dont like it )
Will i drink it..??
yes ive done worse ag though in fairness not often
Would I buy it?
prob not
though if i needed beer quickish….i would consider it..
all in all a fairly good kit at a reasonable price….
if anyone wants to try a bottle leave a message..and i will expect a review…..
What’s in the Bottle A??? Any idea?
